This 11 day trek into the heart of the Himalayas will begin with your arrival in Kathmandu. We will spend a couple of days seeing the city, shopping, and touring sites like Swayambhunath (the monkey temple) and the Great Boudhanath Stupa based out of our comfortable hotel in the Thamel district.
The true ADVENTURE starts as we fly by helicopter into the Solukhumbu and land at Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla at 9,383ft. From here we step back in time and follow the footsteps of the earliest Everest climbers and begin our trek.
over the next days we will walk among the Sherpa people, villages, yaks, and the high peaks of the Himalaya. The scenery is breathtaking.
We will spend acclimatization days in Namche Bazaar and hike to the overlook where we will have unprecedented veiws of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Mt. EVEREST!
Our destination is Tengboche with its Tibetan Buddhist Monastery and sweeping veiws of the Khumbu Valley.
Then it's "down hill" from there.
This is a strenous trek. Accomodations are comfortable and the food is basic, very good, but basic. Our hosts, the Sherpa people, are the kindest people you will meet and they go to every length to make us comfortable.
We work within their system so patience is REQUIRED.

Not included: INTERNATIONAL AIRFARE, dinners in Kathmandu, alcohol, laundry services, soft drinks, personal items.
A $500 non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking.
By FAR my most popular trip. For 20 years my Peruvian partners and I have guided countless small groups on this Once in a Lifetime "bucket list" trek through the Sacred Valley and up to the fabled ruins of Machu Picchu!
Our trip begins with an evening arrival in Lima and a brief overnight before departing on an early morning flight to the mountain city of Cuzco. We spend the day touring the city and he ruins above it.
The next morning we begin our short bus trip to the starting point of the Inca Trail. From here our porters will leave us and move ahead to prepare a trail lunch and then our camp for the night. We will pass through a series of ruins that our english speaking guide will give us details about.
On our early evening arrival at camp we will have hot water to wash some of the trail off and then tea and snacks before preparing for our dinner.
The next morning we wake to a hot breakfast and then begin our toughest and I think the most rewarding day on the trail, the high pass. After a hot dinner and a sound sleep we begin our third day on the trail and tour more ancient ruins, walk through a cloud forest, and have an opportunity for chance encounters with condors, eagles, and tiny hummingbirds.
The last camp sits on a rocky point with spectacular views and sometimes we are visited by local llamas. The last night on the trail is a celebration.
The next day we pass through the Sun Gate to get our first view of MACHU PICCHU! After tears, high fives, and photos we tour Machu Picchu then Head by bus to the village for hot showers, clean clothes, and a celebration dinner.
The following day we take a train ride back to Cuzco for an evening arrival, have a good nights sleep, and rise early for our flight back to Lima, tour the city, to make our evening flight back to the States.
Included in the cost is English speaking guides, porters, four season tents, all meals on the trail portion of the trip, permits to the parks and trail, buses, trains, and the flight from Lima to Cuzco and return, and accommodations in Lima and Cuzco.
NOT included in the cost is International airfare to Lima and return, meals in Lima and Cuzco p(breakfasts are included), alcoholic drinks, trip insurance, personal camping items (sleeping bag and mat), souvenirs, and personal expenses.
